Learn Kite-Making from the People’s Puppets of Occupy Wall St.

Want to learn how to make mini-kites? Or just want see a puppet performance? Check out the People’s Puppets of Occupy Wall Street at A14! They will be bringing kite-making materials and host a teach-in from 1-3pm. Some of the kites will be sent to Tahrir Square in Egypt as gifts!

Do you love the Occupy Wall Street Movement but are not sure how to get involved? Or perhaps you don’t think you have the time? Come and check out “Direct Democracy Community Dialog and Info Share” at 1:30pm with Craig Stephens from Occupy Wall Street on #A14. Mr. Stephens has been with facilitation since OWS started and has lead many direct democracy trainings there.

At Spring Awakening 2012, he will host a discussion about systems of direct democracy both within and without OWS. This is training that anyone can implement in their own neighborhood, so if you don’t have time for all the Occupy Wall Street happenings, you can start your own. Occupy your block!

Planting the seeds of change with Brooklyn Food Coalition

The Brooklyn Food Coalition is a grassroots partnership of groups and individuals striving to give effective voice to all those who live or work in Brooklyn and wish to achieve a just and sustainable system for tasty, healthy, and affordable food. BFC will be blanketing and promoting the Brooklyn Food Conference which is on May 12th. It is also, possible they will be doing some seed planting! So be sure to stop by and see them.
